Louis the llama

Stickman's Log

Cousin Frank just left to stay with Uncle Desmond and Aunt Mabel for a few days. Surprise dinner was a great success. Aunt Mabel was so delighted to see her son, she forgot that she wasn’t talking to Uncle, and a fun evening was had by all. Turns out Frank did say llama. We decided it was best if Louis the llama stays with me at the moment. How on earth Frank got a Peruvian llama through customs is a mystery!

Cousin Frank is coming to stay. Can’t wait! Always has magnificent stories to share of his travels. Uncle Desmond and Aunt Mabel don’t know he’s coming home, so I’ve invited them to dinner Saturday night and we’re going to surprise them. The video link broke up at the end and I could have sworn Frank said something about bringing a llama, but must have been interference.

Semi Finals!

Got through to the semis in Oak Town’s Got Talent. Pipped at the post by Violet Creeper and her acapella hamster Herbert, who together entranced the audience with their version of ‘Singing in the Rain’. Giles Sprout and Rufus came a close second, after having to abort their act in the grand final. Unfortunately, Henry Potts’ prize bull Toro escaped from the neighbouring field just as Rufus was about to execute his show-stopping jump over the Moon. Toro had spotted Rufus in his cow onesie and made a beeline straight for the loveable hound. Giles Sprout was philosophical in defeat and said it wasn’t to be this year. Henry Potts has promised Rufus a weeks worth of sausages by way of an apology and a lovesick Toro is now secure within his field again.

The Nerves Are Kicking In!

Two days until Oak Town’s Got Talent 2014. Feeling a mixture of great excitement and great trepidation all at once. Just need to stay calm and focus on my shoulder spins and perfecting the worm. Clive has been very calming. I wonder what he thinks about all day?

Winner, Winner!

Won three kilos of potatoes and a goldfish at the fete. Won the spuds for best drawing whilst blindfolded. The judges had high praise for my boy on a donkey. Turned out very well, considering I thought I was drawing a dog playing chess. Rained all day, but didn’t put a dampener on things. And am delighted with the addition of Clive, my goldfish, who I won in the cheese rolling competition. Uncle Desmond has gone back home. Aunt Mabel forgave him when she saw him staggering hopelessly in circles, after coming off the terrifying ride ‘Swing of Death’. Neither Uncle or I had any idea we’d be suspended upside down, swinging in great arcs for that long.

Rain Rain Go Away

Hasn’t stopped raining all day, hope the Sun comes out for Oak Town’s Annual Fete tomorrow. Nipped out in downpour this afternoon to return Uncle Desmond to Aunt Mabel, who had found a large spider in her pantry. Albert would have freaked out; its eyes were like globes bobbing around on stalks! I’ve never seen one like it. Aunt Mabel’s prize-winning ginger cake was in the pantry and she couldn’t steel herself to go in with the eight-legged creature hanging above her head. Uncle Desmond is not a huge fan of spiders himself but was keen to make amends for the fart simulation app incident and knew it was an opportunity to get back into Aunt Mabel’s good books. Alas, just as he attempted to grab the spider, it pounced, landing with intent on Uncle’s forehead, who jumped back in terror and proceeded to fall into Aunt Mabel’s renowned ginger cake. Aunt Mabel told me I could take Uncle back home with me again! Poor Uncle. We’re having a hot chocolate to raise the spirits.

“Oh Mabel – really!”

Uncle Desmond is staying the night. I downloaded a fart simulation app onto his phone the other day, and when he and Aunt Mabel were out to dinner last night, he kept secretly playing an assortment of trumps; each time announcing loudly, “Oh Mabel – really!” Aunt Mabel says he has the mentality of a six year old and that she doesn’t know how she’ll ever be able to look Reverend Shoot, who happened to be sitting at the next table with  his wife, in the eye again. I have a feeling Uncle may be here for a few days.

Dinner with the Sprouts

Hilarious evening at the Sprouts. Giles Sprout gave me a sneak preview of his act for ‘Oak Town’s Got Talent’ – it’s going to take a lot of beating. Rufus is really the star of the show. I had no idea dogs could leap that high, especially dressed in a cow onesie. Giles was desperate to show me and slipped the outfit onto the loveable hound as Marjorie Sprout went to sort dessert. Such a pity Rufus was air bound as Marjorie re-entered with her five-layer summer fruits trifle.

Ice Cream Kinda Day…

Feeling rather sick. Just treated myself to an ice cream from Oak Town’s Creamery. Went for an extra large multi combo of honeycomb, pomegranate, raspberry, vanilla custard and sticky toffee pudding, with two chocolate flakes. Terrible brain freeze half way through eating. Bumped into Giles Sprout on the way home, who has kindly invited me for tea tomorrow. He mentioned in passing that some joker has put a stuffed toy duck in with the family of ducks on Acorn River. Seemed confused when I asked if it happened to have a banana in its beak.

‘SlowMo’

Fabulous app on new smartphone – ‘SlowMo’. Takes a real time movie and then plays back in slow motion. Can’t wait to show Albert. Have been using it to perfect my latest magic trick, which involves a difficult slight of hand with a banana and a duck. Am using stuffed toy duck after the unfortunate incident with Mr Carrots.
